Hyundai Casper Micro-SUV Trademarked: Hyundai Casper SUV is sold in international markets and has been garnering significant attention. There were talks about the launch of the Hyundai Casper SUV in India some time ago, however, it didn't get the approval back then. According to a report by MotorBeam, Hyundai has now officially trademarked the Casper in India, hinting at a possible entry into our market.

If the Hyundai Casper hits Indian roads, it will be positioned below the Hyundai Exter due to its smaller size. To give you an idea, the Casper measures 3595 mm in length, 1595 mm in width, and 1575 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2400 mm. In comparison, the Exter is larger, measuring 3815 mm in length, 1710 mm in width, 1631 mm in height, with a 2450 mm wheelbase.
Hyundai Casper - Design
In terms of appearance, the Casper sports a tallboy hatchback design with hints of a compact SUV's styling. It follows Hyundai's modern design language, featuring LED daytime running lights on top of the headlight units integrated into the bumper, along with a distinctive grille design. The addition of roof rails adds to its height and there's even a sunroof for a touch of premiumness. The alloy wheels add a touch of flair and the unique tail lights contribute to its distinctive look. If it launches in India, Hyundai may introduce some unique styling elements tailored to our market.
Hyundai Casper - Interior
Moving inside, the Hyundai Casper showcases a unique design with a two-spoke steering wheel inspired by the Verna, a floating touchscreen infotainment system, a dashboard-mounted gear lever and a centre console. It also features an all-digital instrument cluster. While the interior's colour scheme and elements may seem basic for Hyundai's standards, it's likely to be positioned accordingly in their lineup.

Hyundai Casper - Powertrain
The Hyundai Casper is built on the K1 platform shared with the Santro and Grand i10 Nios. In international markets, the Hyundai Casper is equipped with a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated MPI petrol engine that produces a power output of 85 bhp and a 1.0-litre T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine that produces a power output of 99 bhp. For India, Hyundai is expected to offer it with the 1.0-litre NA petrol engine, available with manual and AMT transmission options.
