Genesis India Launch Date: At its first-ever CEO Investor Day in Mumbai, Hyundai Motor India (HMI) outlined its comprehensive 'Vision 2030' roadmap for India, aiming to support its growth trajectory through India-focused product expansion plans, advanced manufacturing, deep localisation, and key financial guidance. With India as its strategic priority, Hyundai said that it will launch 26 models in India by FY2030, including seven new ones and seven facelifts. It also confirmed the launch of its luxury brand, Genesis, in the country by 2027, marking Hyundai's entry into India's luxury market.
Alongside the timeline, Hyundai also revealed that its Genesis models for the Indian market will be manufactured in India, with initial assembly expected to precede full-scale production. The development is part of the luxury brand's broader global expansion plans that aim to enhance sales and diversify Genesis' presence beyond the US.

Genesis to take on Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz
In the international market, Genesis retails these ICE models: the G70, G80, and G90 sedans, the GV70 and GV80 SUVs, as well as the GV80 coupe-SUV. Its all-electric models are the GV60, the electric G80, and the electric GV70. Although the model lineup for the Indian market is yet to be announced, Genesis will aim squarely at BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi in the luxury segment. With the arrival of Genesis in 2027, competition is expected to intensify as customers will have more choices in this space. For reference, the main players in India's luxury market, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover, Audi, and Volvo, clocked combined 48,849 units in FY2025, representing a 3.54 per cent YoY growth compared to FY24.
'Our commitment is comprehensive: 26 product launches, including 7 new nameplates, India's first locally manufactured dedicated electric SUV by 2027 and the launch of our luxury brand Genesis, all while treating every customer like our honoured guest. The fundamentals are strong. The strategy is clear. The team is energised. And most importantly, we have the trust of Indian customers built over 29 years. It's a great time to be at Hyundai Motor India,' said Jose Munoz, President & CEO, HMC.

Hyundai to Launch First India-Built EV in 2027: Details
Moreover, Hyundai India will also launch an A+ segment electric SUV, specifically for 'local drivers', as announced by the company at its previous Investor Day. Arriving in 2027, the upcoming electric SUV is going to benefit from localisation to keep costs in check, according to the brand. While the details are under wraps, the new EV is expected to adopt a fresh design language, rather than just being an electric derivative of an existing model.
