Hyundai has launched the new i20 for the Indian markets after recently sharing teasers of the i20 facelift. The Hyundai i20 facelift is priced between Rs 6.99 lakh - Rs 11.01 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift comprises change in design, interiors, features and also the powertrain of the car. The new i20 will be available in five variants -  Era, Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O).

Hyundai i20 - Engine 

The updated i20 now exclusively offers a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT transmission. This engine produces 83 bhp with the manual gearbox and 88 bhp with the CVT, along with 115 Nm of torque. The new i20 now also gets the  Idle Stop & Go (ISG) feature that increases fuel efficiency.

Hyundai has phased out the 120hp, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine from the standard i20 lineup. However, a report by Autocar stated that it will return exclusively in the i20 N Line facelift, designed for performance enthusiasts which was confirmed to them by Hyundai India. Hyundai had previously discontinued the diesel engine option for the i20 during the transition to BS6 Phase II emission norms.

Hyundai i20 - Appearance 

The design of the new Hyundai i20 essentially remains the same with slight modifications that include new LED headlights and LED DRLs. The bumpers in the front and the back have also been revamped giving it an aggressive look. The aerodynamics of the car has also been improved by accentuating sharp lines throughout the body. 16 inch alloy wheels and new front grille add onto the aggressive look of the car. Moreover, the Hyundai logo gets a new 2D design and has been replaced from the grille to the lower part of the bonnet. 

Amazon Grey (New), Atlas White, Titan Grey, Typhoon Silver, Starry Night, Fiery Red, Atlas White + Black Roof, and Fiery Red + Black Roof  are the colour options available for the new Hyundai i20. 

Hyundai i20 - Interiors 

The interiors of the new Hyundai i20 have been refreshed as they feature a dual-tone grey and black colour scheme, ambient lighting, a BOSE premium 7-speaker sound system,10.25-inch touchscreen, all-digital instrument cluster,  redesigned key, wireless phone charger, single-pane sunroof, and automatic climate control. The upholstery of the car has also been revamped with semi-leatherette seats, leatherette door armrests and sleek leather-wrapped D-Cut Steering wheel.

Hyundai i20 -  Safety Features 

Safety is a top priority in the new Hyundai i20, boasting 26 standard safety features which include:

- 6 airbags

- 26 standard safety features including 6 airbags.

- Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

- Hill Assist Control (HAC).

- Vehicle Stability Management (VSM).

- Anti Lock Braking System (ABS).

- Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD).

- Three-point seatbelts with seat belt reminders for all seats.

- Over 40 additional safety features such as a burglar alarm, emergency stop signal, rear parking camera, tire pressure monitoring system, headlamp guards, and automatic headlamps.
