South Korean manufacturer Hyundai India has initiated a recall for the Creta iVT due to a defective electronic oil pump (EOP) controller. The recall campaign affects the pre-facelift version of the Hyundai Creta SUV. However, the exact number of units affected by the recall has not been disclosed by the automaker.

The recall specifically targets the pre-facelift version of the second-generation Creta SUV for inspection and repair of the iVT EOP controller. Affected customers have been notified of the recall through messages and have been requested to visit their nearest authorised Hyundai dealerships for inspection and repair. Hyundai has assured that all necessary inspection and repair work will be conducted on the affected vehicles at no cost to the customers.
Owners of the pre-facelift Hyundai Creta iVT models can check if their vehicle is among those recalled by entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on Hyundai India's official website. This proactive measure aims to address any potential safety concerns and ensure the reliability of the vehicles on the road. Interestingly, this recall follows closely after Hyundai's recent recall of the Verna sedan due to a similar issue with the EOP controller. Moreover, this recall aligns with Kia's recent recall campaign for the Seltos SUV in India, which was also attributed to a potential error in the electronic oil pump controller.
