Indian Army Cars: The Indian Army is among the top five Armies in the world. The Global Firepower Index 2025 ranks the Indian Army in fourth position among the world’s most powerful armies. The successful “Operation Sindoor” against Pakistan-based terror groups has proved the mettle of the Indian Army globally, with world leaders praising its strikes on terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. Any Army in the world needs advanced weapons to attain more power, and similarly, it needs a great set of vehicles for rapid transportation. Maruti Suzuki Gypsy
Maruti Suzuki Gypsy was one of the most capable off-road and on-road vehicles in the country. While the Gypsy is no more available to the civilian population it can often be seen during the republic day parade and Indian Military exercises. The popular off-road SUV from Maruti is still cherished not just by the Indian Army but by most of the Indian Defence Forces.

From a long-distance journey to off-road adventures, the Tata Safari Storme performs great everywhere. The Indian Army offers the Tata Safari Storme to its higher-ranking officers. While the new Safari has succeeded the Storme variant, the Indian Army is still using the previous generation model by providing it with the required updates over the years.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic
When it comes to muscular road presence, amazing off-road capabilities, along with a powerful performance, and a comfortable cabin, the Mahindra Scorpio Classic surely makes it to the list. The Indian Army uses the Scorpio for officer mobility as well as for transferring troops and surveying.

Maruti Suzuki is considered the largest car manufacturer in India, and the Jimny has made its name on the list as one of the most capable cars off-road. Maruti Jimny is the proud successor of Maruti’s previous off-road capable vehicle, Gypsy. While the Indian Army already uses Maruti Gypsy it has recently added newcomer Maruti Suzuki Jimny to the list as well.

Force Gurkha
Whenever it comes to the most off-road capable cars of India, the Force Gurkha also makes it to the list along Mahindra Thar and Maruti Jimny. The Gurkha is available in three-door as well as a five-door variant, and it directly competes with the likes of the Mahindra Thar and Maruti Jimny. The Force Gurkha is the latest addition to the Indian Armed Forces Convoy.
