Jeep Compass and Meridian Prices Hiked In India; Check Variant-Wise Revised Rates Here

Jeep India has announced a price increase for its two SUVs -- Compass and Meridian. The Compass' price has increased by Rs 43,000, while its three-row brother has seen a maximum price increase of up to Rs 3.14 lakh. The price for the base model of Compass is now Rs 21.73 lakh, while the price for the base model of Meridian is Rs 33.40 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom).

The Compass was a direct competitor to vehicles like the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector, and Tata Harrier, but the price has moved it into an entirely different league. The basic pricing for the Compass facelift, when it was first introduced to the Indian market in January 2021, was Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which implies that it is now about Rs 5 lakh more expensive!

In the BS6 Phase I era, the Compass no longer has the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine and is only available with the 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine, which produces 170 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque and is coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional 9-speed torque converter AT. The same powertrain is also available for the Meridian with three rows. Both come standard with front-wheel drive, however, 4×4 is an option.
