Kawasaki Ninja 500 vs Yamaha R3: Kawasaki Motor India, a popular motorcycle brand in India has introduced the new Ninja 500 in the country. The new Kawasaki Ninja 500 features a design inspired by newer Kawasaki sport bikes such as the ZX-6R and Ninja 7 Hybrid. Kawasaki India has launched the Ninja 500 with potential plans to replace the Ninja 400 in Kawasaki's Indian lineup. Once the Kawasaki Ninja 500 hits the roads, the new motorcycle will compete with models like the Yamaha R3, Aprilia RS 457 and KTM RC 390. Now, let's take a look at the comparison of the Kawasaki Ninja 500 with the Yamaha R3 in terms of price, features, and engine specifications.

Kawasaki Ninja 500

Price - After launching the Ninja 500, Kawasaki India has priced the new motorcycle in the market at a price of Rs 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom).

Engine Specs - In terms of engine specs, the Ninja 500 is powered by a newly developed 451 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. This engine churns out a power output of 45 bhp and 42.6 Nm of torque.

Features - The Indian variant of the Ninja 500 is not the highest-spec model, so it comes with standard features like a fully digital 5-inch LCD display with smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology app. It also includes a slip and assist clutch but lacks advanced features such as traction control or riding modes.

Yamaha R3

Price - Yamaha R3 is brought to India via the CBU route and is available at a price tag of Rs 4.65 lakh (ex-showroom).

Engine Specs - In terms of engine specs, the Yamaha R3 derives its power from a 321 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that is capable of producing a power output of 42 bhp and 29.6 Nm of torque while being paired to a six-speed gearbox unit for transmission duties.

Features - Like this Ninja 500, the Yamaha R3 also lacks advanced features like traction control and riding modes. It also does not get the Bluetooth connectivity feature which is present in the Kawasaki Ninja 500. However, it does come with dual-channel ABS, all-LED lighting and a digital instrument cluster that shows basic bike information.
