Bike lovers are passionate about their two-wheeled companions, cherishing the sense of freedom and thrill they provide. To keep your bike in top-notch condition, regular maintenance is essential. However, this is not achievable if you are not concerned enough to take care of your vehicle and put in efforts to extend its lifespan. Start with routine checks of tire pressure, brakes, and chain lubrication followed by regular inspection of the gears and cables.
Here are a few things you should keep a check on to get the best out of your beast:
Carburettor Settings
Motorcycle mileage can be improved by re-tuning the carburettor settings. The carburettor settings can be adjusted manually or electrically and it will help your motorcycle if its performance is not at its best. This will significantly improve the engine's efficiency and mileage.
Turn off the engine when your vehicle is idle
It is advised to turn off the engine if you have to wait for more than 20 seconds at a traffic signal. Running an engine while it is stationary indicates that fuel is being burned and this uses up a lot of fuel over time, especially in places with traffic that is constantly moving.

Maintain Tyre Pressure
Any vehicle's fuel efficiency can be significantly improved by maintaining sufficient tyre pressure. Make sure to always maintain the tyre pressure, as specified by the manufacturer and also get the tyre pressures checked regularly whenever you go to the petrol station to refuel your bike.
Keep It Clean
Maximum mileage from a motorbike can be achieved by taking care of it and keeping it clean at all times. Make it a habit to wash the bike frequently to keep it in good condition. Also, remember to regularly oil the parts that require lubrication.
Use Good Quality Fuel
Make sure you use good quality fuel on your bike. This keeps the engine in mint condition and increases the engine's efficiency.
Avoid Rash Driving
Engaging in rash riding like speeding through city streets, ignoring potholes, and abrupt braking is not only bad for your bike but also endangers your safety. Consistent rash driving can lead to substantial engine damage over time.
Don’t Park It In The Sun
Avoid parking your bike in the sun because it leads to fuel evaporation, leading to lower mileage. When you know you'll be away for a while, park your bike in the shade to ensure better mileage.
Regular Servicing
The mileage of your bike is also impacted by how frequently you give it for servicing. Servicing extends the lifespan of your vehicle as well as the health of the engine. If for some reason you have to postpone the servicing of your bike, make sure that the engine oil is always checked.
