Kia Seltos With Hybrid Tech Spotted Ahead Of Global Debut; Headed To India Soon?

Kia Seltos Hybrid: Kia revealed its plans to introduce a hybrid powertrain setup for the Seltos mid-sized SUV at its 2025 Investor Day held on April 9. It is also known that the new-generation Seltos, which is likely to make global debut in the coming months, is currently under development. It is believed that the soon-to-debut Kia Seltos is expected to be equipped with hybrid tech and e-AWD, as part of the brand's powertrain diversification strategy. 

Kia Seltos Hybrid: What Spy Shots Reveal?

While the global debut is some time away, a test mule of the Kia Seltos Hybrid has been spotted undergoing testing in European soil. Despite being heavily wrapped in covers, the test mule reveals redesigned LED headlamps and DRLs, drawing styling cues from Kia's newer SUVs like the EV5. The vehicle also seems to feature a honeycomb-pattern grille, 'Opposites United' dual-tone alloys, and new LED taillamps. 

 

Courtesy of a short rear overhang, the next-generation Kia Seltos might feature a higher length and larger wheelbase. In Europe, Kia will slot the Seltos between the Niro and the Stonic. Other visual bits on the test model include discs at both ends and a fresh design for the tailgate.

Kia Seltos Hybrid: Technical Specs

The technical specifications are under wraps, but expect the upcoming Seltos to come with naturally aspirated petrol, turbo-petrol, and diesel engines, along with hybrid motors. Also, manual and automatic transmission options offered on the ICE Seltos are likely to be carried over.

Kia Seltos Hybrid: Will it Arrive in India?

Following its global debut in late 2025, the new-generation Kia Seltos could arrive in India by late 2026 or early 2027. While yet to be confirmed, a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with front-wheel drive is likely to be offered.
