The Korean automaker, Kia has made the headlines several times in the last few weeks as they have recently launched two new variants of their flagship SUV, Seltos along with the prices for the Seltos and the Carens MPV being hiked by 2 per cent from October. Now, Kia’s popular mid-size SUV, Sonet has been spotted testing on the Indian roads and is anticipated to launch by the end of this year.

Kia Sonet Facelift - Design
The Sonet facelift will feature significant design enhancements, including new diamond-cut alloy wheels, a revamped front profile including new headlights and DRLs. Both front and rear bumpers will undergo modifications and a larger redesigned grille will be incorporated. Additionally, it will feature distinctive L-shaped LED tail lights.

Kia Sonet Facelift - Interiors and Features
Inside, the Sonet facelift will receive significant updates, including a redesigned dashboard featuring a unified twin-screen setup for the digital cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. The upholstery may also be available in a new colour theme. Furthermore, the facelifted Sonet will come equipped with ventilated front seats, a single-pane sunroof, front parking sensors, and retained automatic climate control, among other features.
There is a strong possibility that the Sonet facelift will introduce features such as a dashcam, a 360-degree camera, and an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite.
Kia Sonet Facelift - Engine
The Kia Sonet facelift's engine lineup will remain unchanged. It will retain the following powertrain options:
- A 2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 83 bhp and 115 Nm torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
- A 1-litre turbo petrol engine with approximately 120 bhp and 172 Nm torque, available with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.
- A 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine producing 115 bhp and 250 Nm torque, offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter transmission.

Kia Sonet Facelift - Variants and Prices
The upcoming Kia Sonet facelift is likely to maintain its current six trim levels; HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+, and X Line. Anticipated pricing is expected to fall between Rs. 8.00 lakh and Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom), slightly higher than the current model's price range of Rs. 7.79 lakh to Rs. 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia Sonet Facelift - Competitors
The new Kia will compete with rivals like the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, the recently updated Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.
