While Diwali gifts at workplaces often take the form of bonuses and festive hampers, a pharmaceutical company in Panchkula has continued its four-year tradition of rewarding employees with cars. This Diwali, MITS Healthcare has gifted four brand-new Kia Sonet SUVs to its top-performing employees, while also introducing a lucky draw to extend the opportunity to win a car to more members of its workforce, India Today reported.

MK Bhatia, founder and chairman of MITS Group of Companies, has been rewarding employees with cars for their performance and dedication since the initiative began four years ago. The company shared videos of this year's celebrations on social media, showing the recipients unveiling their new vehicles at a dealership.

From Four Cars To A Wider Employee Reward Scheme

The latest initiative adds a new dimension to the company's annual Diwali tradition. Alongside the four cars given to top performers, the company has introduced a lucky draw for employees who have completed at least 18 months of service.

The scheme is open to eligible employees across different levels of the organisation, from security guards to senior officials. It gives employees who may not be selected through performance-based criteria an opportunity to win a car.

According to a report by Indiaepost, the group has announced one car as part of the lucky draw, while its practice of rewarding top-performing employees continues. The draw is scheduled for October 28, with 35 people included in it.

The move expands the initiative beyond individual performance, allowing employees across roles to participate in the company's festive reward scheme.

A Tradition That Has Grown Over The Years

The car-gifting initiative has expanded considerably since its early years. In October 2024, MITS Healthcare, located in Panchkula's industrial area, gifted 15 vehicles to top-performing employees. These included 13 Tata Punch cars and two Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara SUVs.

The following year, Bhatia gifted 51 cars to employees ahead of Diwali, marking the third consecutive year of the initiative, according to Hindustan Times. The large-scale distribution brought renewed attention to the company's approach to employee recognition.

The latest round continues that tradition, with four employees receiving Kia Sonet SUVs this year. The addition of a lucky draw also gives eligible employees across the organisation a chance to be part of the initiative, making the company's Diwali rewards broader than performance-based recognition alone.
