Mahindra Thar 5-Door Spotted: Mahindra & Mahindra, a leading automobile manufacturer in India, has been developing a 5-door version of its popular Thar SUV, expected to be named the 'Thar Armada.' The brand recently filed a patent for this name, hinting at a possible launch around August 15th. Fresh spy shots of the Thar Armada have surfaced, revealing several new details about this highly anticipated SUV. Mahindra's new Thar Armada is set to combine the rugged appeal of the original Thar with added practicality and modern features, making it a strong contender in the SUV market.

Thar Armada (5-Door) - Design 

In terms of design, the Thar Armada will feature a new set of circular LED headlamps with a projector setup, giving it a modern look. The marker lights on the front fenders remain, along with fog lamps integrated into the bumper. The grille has been slightly redesigned to look more aggressive compared to the 3-door Thar. At the rear, the Thar Armada sports new LED tail lamps. Moreover, it will feature a new alloy wheel design, likely to be 18 inches in size. Lower variants will come with steel wheels instead of alloy.

Thar Armada (5-Door) - Interior 

Previous spy shots have also revealed some interior features of the Thar Armada. It will come equipped with a new touchscreen infotainment system, which was first introduced in the XUV400 Pro. Other features include automatic climate control and an electric sunroof. The steering wheel will be new and is expected to be the same as the one in the Scorpio N. Additionally, in recent spy shots, it has been noted that the Thar 5-door will get a panoramic sunroof and will also be equipped with ADAS Level 2 suite. ADAS features may include lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning and assistance, and more.

Thar Armada (5-Door) - Engine 

Under the hood, the Thar Armada will offer both petrol and diesel powertrains. The petrol version will have a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, while the diesel variant will feature a 2.2-litre engine. Both engines will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Additionally, the Thar Armada is expected to offer both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options.
