Maruti Suzuki E Vitara Range: Maruti Suzuki has revealed the variants and battery specifications of its first electric SUV, the e-Vitara, ahead of launch in the Indian market. India's largest automaker's electric offering for India will be positioned as a mid-size electric SUV, joining the ranks of the Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, and the Hyundai Creta Electric. Maruti's e-Vitara will be offered in a total of three variants and two battery configurations, and here are the details:

Maruti Suzuki E Vitara: Variant-Wise Battery Options

The e-Vitara will go on sale in the following variants: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. The entry-level Delta will be equipped with a 49kWh battery pack, while the Zeta and Alpha variants will be available with a bigger 61kWh battery. Both batteries will be paired with a single-motor setup, powering the front wheels. The international-spec model gets an all-wheel-drive system as well. 

Maruti Suzuki E Vitara: Range, Charging Capabilities

The smaller 49kWh battery (144bhp/193km) claims a WLTP-certified range of 344km, while the bigger pack (174bhp/193Nm) offers an ARAI-claimed range of 543km. The latter promises a Delhi-Chandigarh drive on a single charge. The eSUV supports both AC and DC charging. With the latter, a 10 to 80 per cent charge takes a claimed time of 45 minutes. The 7kW AC charger takes 6.5 hours (10-100%) for the 49kWh and 9 hours (10-100%) for the 61kWh, while the 11kWh can do the same in 4.5 hours and 5.5 hours, respectively.

Maruti Suzuki E Vitara: BaaS Model will be Launched too 

Alongside, Maruti Suzuki has announced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option for the e-Vitara, aiming to make the eSUV more affordable. With already 2,000 charging points in more than 1,100 cities, the brand aims to set up 1 lakh charging points in India by 2030. The charging points, which, according to Maruti Suzuki, are available every 5-10km, can be located through the 'e for me' app.
