Maruti Suzuki eWX: Suzuki has recently filed a design trademark for its upcoming electric vehicle, the eWX, in India. The concept version of this compact EV was initially unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 in Tokyo. While filing a design patent does not guarantee the vehicle's launch, it does indicate Suzuki's intent to safeguard its design language.

Maruti Suzuki eWX

The Suzuki eWX is designed as a city-friendly electric vehicle, and it is expected to have a different name when it eventually enters production. The manufacturer claims that the eWX will offer a driving range of up to 230 km on a single charge. In terms of dimensions, the eWX measures 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width and 1,620 mm in height, making it even shorter than the Suzuki S-Presso currently available in the Indian market. The eWX's tall design should provide ample headroom for passengers.

If the production version of the Suzuki eWX is launched in India, it will compete with other small electric vehicles like the MG Comet EV and Tata Tiago EV. This segment is becoming increasingly popular as more consumers look for eco-friendly alternatives for urban commuting.

Maruti Suzuki eVX

In addition to the eWX, Maruti Suzuki is developing another electric vehicle, the eVX, which is currently being tested on Indian roads. The eVX will be built on a new electric skateboard platform and is expected to feature a 60 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of approximately 550 km. This electric crossover is slated for launch in the Indian market next year.
