Maruti Suzuki India Limited has reached a significant milestone by opening its 5,000th service centre in India. This new service centre is located in Gurugram, Haryana and marks a major expansion in the company's service network, which now spreads across 2,500 cities in the country.

The journey of Maruti Suzuki's service network began in 1983 with the opening of its first service workshop. By 1997, the company had established 1,000 service touchpoints. The expansion continued steadily, reaching 2,000 touch points within nine years, 3,000 in the next eight years, and 4,000 in the following seven years. Remarkably, the latest 1,000 service touch points were added in just three years, highlighting the rapid growth and demand for Maruti Suzuki's services.

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, highlighted the vital role of an extensive sales and service network in driving the company's sales growth. He reaffirmed Maruti Suzuki's dedication to further expanding its service network in the upcoming years. During the financial year 2023-24, Maruti Suzuki achieved a record by adding 400 new service touchpoints, marking the highest annual increase to date. A significant number of these new service centres are situated in non-urban areas, highlighting the company's strategy to improve accessibility for customers in remote regions. This expansion is part of Maruti Suzuki's ongoing effort to reach a wider customer base.

In addition to expanding its service network, Maruti Suzuki achieved another milestone in April by surpassing production of three crore units in total, since it began operations in December 1983. The company reached the 10 lakh production mark in 1994, primarily driven by the popularity of the iconic Maruti 800 model. Maruti Suzuki continued its production growth, reaching one crore units by April 2005, two crore units by July 2018 and three crore units this year.
