Royal Enfield Flat Track 450: Royal Enfield recently unveiled the Flat Track 450 at the London Bike Shed Moto Show 2024. This new flat tracker is based on the Himalayan 450 and is currently a one-off custom project. However, like the FT411 flat tracker which was based on the previous generation Himalayan, the new version might be used for flat tracking events and competitions.
Royal Enfield Flat Track 450 - Hardware
The Royal Enfield Flat Track 450 features a stripped-down design, shedding all unnecessary components. It sports lighter body panels, a different handlebar and a unique suspension setup. Unlike the new Himalayan’s USD front forks, the Flat Track 450 uses telescopic front forks and a monoshock setup at the rear. This suspension configuration is also seen on the upcoming Guerrilla 450 roadster, which shares its platform with the Himalayan. The Flat Track 450 stands out with its alloy wheels fitted with Maxxis tyres and a race exhaust system.
Royal Enfield Flat Track 450 - Engine
Although Royal Enfield hasn't released official specifications, the bike is expected to use the same 452 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Sherpa 450 engine found in the Himalayan. On the Himalayan, this engine produces a power output of 39.4 bhp and 40 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The Flat Track 450 might have a slightly higher power output, and its reduced weight will enhance its power-to-weight ratio, making it more agile and responsive.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450
The Royal Enfield Flat Track 450 is likely to make an appearance at the brand's events later. However, the eagerly anticipated Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is set to be released in a few months. This new roadster will utilise the same platform as the Himalayan but will be tailored to perform like a roadster.
