Maruti Suzuki, the largest automobile manufacturer in India has over 3.2 lakh orders for its vehicle line-up. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India, revealed that the company currently has a backlog of over 3.2 lakh pending orders. Among these, Maruti's SUV range constitutes over 90,000 units.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara recently surpassed the 1 lakh sales mark within a year of its launch in India. Maruti Suzuki India proudly claims that the Grand Vitara is the fastest midsize SUV in its segment to reach this milestone. Currently, the company has a backlog of 22,000 units for the Grand Vitara alone.
In the SUV lineup, the Brezza has the highest number of pending orders, exceeding 40,000 units. Similarly, Maruti Suzuki Fronx has pending orders of 20,000 units and Maruti Suzuki Jimny has a backlog order of 10,000 units. Meanwhile, the Invicto, Maruti Suzuki’s most expensive model has a backlog of over 7,000 units with a wait period of up to 14 months.
In June 2023, Maruti Suzuki India faced a challenge with a backlog of 3.87 lakh orders, amplified by the ongoing global semiconductor shortage affecting the automotive industry. Among these orders, more than 95,000 orders were specifically for the popular Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV.

Maruti Suzuki India Vehicle Line-Up
Maruti Suzuki India’s current vehicle line-up includes a range of models from hatchbacks to sedans to SUVs and MPVs. Maruti Suzuki hatchback models include Swift, Baleno, Wagon R, Alto K10, Alto 800, Celerio, Ignis and S-Presso. Maruti Suzuki’s sedan range comprises Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The brand’s SUV line-up includes Brezza, Fronx, Jimny and Grand Vitara. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, XL6 and Invicto make up the brand’s MPV product portfolio. Maruti Suzuki also offers a minivan and a pick-up truck in India which are the Maruti Suzuki Eeco and Maruti Suzuki Super Carry respectively.
