Maruti Suzuki India has introduced a new special edition variant of the Jimny off-roader SUV in the country. This special edition variant is known as the Thunder Edition and will be offered in the Zeta and Alpha variants of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.

The Thunder Edition includes various accessories as standard such as a front skid plate, side door cladding, door visor, door sill guard, rustic tan grip cover, floor mat and exterior graphics. Additionally, it features special finishing on the front bumper, ORVM, side fender and hood. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition has been priced between Rs 10.74 lakh and Rs 14.05 lakh (ex-showroom).

Apart from these changes, the Jimny Thunder Edition has retained the existing specifications. It is equipped with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, K-series naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 103 bhp and 134 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The SUV is equipped with an AWD drivetrain as standard. The Maruti Suzuki Jimnay measures 3,985 mm long, 1,645 mm wide and 1,720 mm tall. The Jimny boasts a wheelbase of 2,590 mm. A notable feature of this variant is its increased cabin space compared to its three-door counterpart owing to its longer wheelbase.

Talking about the features equipped in the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, it gets a push start/stop button, cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control and a larger touchscreen infotainment system. On the exterior, it gets automatic LED headlamps, headlamp washers, fog lamps, dark green glass window, body-coloured door handles, alloy wheels and electric powered ORVMs. Safety features in the Jimny include 6 airbags, brake limited slip differential, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, Rear View Camera, Brake Assist Function and Engine Immobilizer.
