Maruti Suzuki launched their best-seller hatchback, the Swift in India for the first time in 2005. The Maruti Suzuki Swift has been a popular model in the brand’s vehicle line-up ever since its inception. In recent news, Maruti Suzuki has showcased the new-gen model of the Swift at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo. Maruti Suzuki has stated that this is just a concept version of the upcoming facelift of the Swift, however, the model displayed at the show looks almost production- ready.
New Maruti Suzuki Swift - Design
Talking about the design of the new-gen Swift, it looks similar to its predecessor in terms of the structure and shape of the body shell. It features new design elements like new headlights and revamped bumpers to give the hatchback a sporty appeal. Also, the door handles have been repositioned to make them more conveniently accessible.

New Maruti Suzuki Swift - Interior
Moving inside the new-gen Swift, it features a new dual-tone dashboard, a free-standing 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a new digital driver display among other features. It is likely that the new-gen model will also be equipped with features like an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, wireless charging and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
New Maruti Suzuki Swift - Engine
In terms of powertrain, the Maruti Suzuki Swift is anticipated to get a 1.2-litre petrol engine. It is also likely that the new-gen Swift will also include a hybrid powertrain for increased fuel efficiency figures.

New Maruti Suzuki Swift Gets ADAS
Additionally, the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift showcased at the Japan Mobility Show gets Level-2 ADAS features. However, it is not confirmed if the automaker will be launching the new-gen Swift in India with the ADAS suite.
