Czech automaker Skoda Auto has revealed design sketches of the next-gen Superb sedan ahead of its global debut. Skoda will officially launch this new-gen Superb on November 2. Skoda also recently unveiled the new-gen Kodiaq SUV for all international markets. Skoda recently shared teasers of both the new-gen Superb and Kodiaq undergoing testing in diverse climates like freezing Arctic conditions to scorching Arizona heat.
Skoda Superb - Appearance and Design
Skoda Superb shares most of its architecture with the Volkswagen Passat which was discontinued in India in 2019. The design sketches reveal that the Skoda Superb will feature a larger grille with chrome finishing, new slimmer Matrix LED headlamp setup and new LED DRLs on the front fascia of the car. At the back, the Superb features slimmer LED tail lights, revamped tailgate and bumper resembling few Audi sedans. The Skoda Superb is also likely to get new Diamond-Cut alloy wheels. The dimensions of the new-gen Skoda Superb will measure at 4912 mm long and 1481 mm tall which is 43 mm longer and 12 mm taller than its predecessor.
Skoda Superb - Cabin and Interiors
Within the cabin, the Skoda Superb is slated to get a completely revamped interior with a new 10-inch digital instrument console, an advanced Head-Up display, a new 12.9- inch touchscreen infotainment system and new rotary buttons with integrated digital displays that allow easy access to several features of the car. Additionally, the gear selector has been removed to create more space in the centre console area with the gear selection now being available as steering mounted controls. The Superb sedan also gets massage seats and four-way adjustable lumbar support.
Skoda Superb - Powertrain
Talking about the powertrain of the new-gen Skoda Superb, it is expected to get multiple TSI petrol engines, TDI diesel engines and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Skoda has not revealed specific details about the powertrain of the sedan.
Skoda Superb - Launch
Skoda will also be launching the station wagon variant of the Skoda Superb, however, that will not be making its way to India. The Skoda Superb sedan will be launched for all global markets including India by mid-2024.
