Maruti Suzuki Sales in September 2025: Maruti Suzuki India Limited, India's largest car manufacturer, has released sales figures for September 2025. It recorded total domestic sales of 1,32,820 passenger vehicles last month, representing an 8.37 per cent YoY (year-over-year) decline compared to the corresponding period last fiscal year (September 2024: 1,44,962 units). Having said that, the company's exports stood at 42,204 units, which is a significant 52 per cent YoY increase from 27,728 units sold in September 2024, reflecting robust international demand for made-in-India Maruti Suzukis.

Maruti Suzuki Total Sales in Sept. 2025: 2.7% Increase

Cumulatively, Maruti Suzuki sold over 1.89 lakh units (1,89,665 to be precise) last month, which includes total domestic sales (passenger vehicles + light commercial vehicles + sales to other OEMs) of 1,47,461 units and total exports of 42,204 units. Maruti Suzuki Domestic Sales in Sept. 2025: 8.4% Decline

While overall vehicle sales (1,89,665) in September 2025 saw a slight increase over the total units sold in September 2024, domestic passenger vehicle sales witnessed an 8.4 per cent decrease to 1,32,820 units from 1,44,962 units sold in September 2024. This, according to Maruti Suzuki, should be seen in the context of logistical constraints towards the end of the month, while adding that the 'GST reform has significantly improved the customer sentiment as reflected in the highest-ever deliveries of 1.65 lakh units' during the first 8 days of Navratri.

Maruti Suzuki Segment-Wise Domestic Sales in Sept. 2025: UV Sales Down 20.9%

Of the 1,32,820 passenger vehicles sold last month, sales of 7,208 units came from the mini segment (Alto K10 and S-Presso) and 66,862 from the compact segment (Celerio, Baleno, Dzire, Ignis, Wagon R, and Swift). Whereas the former represented a 30 per cent increase, the latter marked an 11 per cent decrease over the same period last financial year. As for the mid-size segment, not even a single unit of the Ciaz sedan was delivered. However, the company dispatched 662 units in September 2024.

Coming to the utility vehicle (UV) segment, which includes Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris, and XL6, Maruti Suzuki sold 48,695 units in September 2025, down from 61,549 units in September 2024, representing a 20.9 per cent YoY decline. The sales of the Eeco van also declined from 11,908 units in September 2024 to 10,035 units in September 2025.

Maruti Suzuki's passenger vehicle sales were a mixed bag in September 2025, reflecting strong competition in the UV segment, evolving consumer preferences, and volatile market conditions. Despite these challenges, the GST benefits and festive season offers are reasons to remain optimistic.
