Maruti Suzuki To Launch Its First Electric Car ‘eVX’ By 2025; All You Need To Know

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest automobile manufacturer already has a vast line-up of vehicles available in India. However, Maruti Suzuki is planning to expand its portfolio in India with new launches ahead. The automaker is going to introduce 5 new vehicles by the year 2025 which also includes the brand’s first EV.

Maruti Suzuki eVX

Maruti Suzuki eVX will be the brand’s first electric offering ever. There is no confirmed information on the launch timeline of the EV, however, it has been spotted testing earlier this year and could be launched by early 2025. There is limited information available about the upcoming eVX electric SUV.

Powertrain

Maruti Suzuki has also revealed that the EV will be a 5-seater SUV, equipped with a dual-motor setup that will be powered by a 60 kWh battery pack that will offer a claimed driving range of up to 550 km.

Appearance

The eVX will resemble the brand's signature SUV appearances featuring an aerodynamic profile, extended wheelbase, reduced overhangs, and ideal ground clearance. It will be positioned as a compact SUV closely mirroring the dimensions of Maruti's flagship SUV, the Brezza. The eVX concept has been shown to have a length of 4,300 mm, width of 1,800 mm, and height of 1,600 mm. The production version is likely to maintain a similar size.

Maruti Suzuki has emphasised that the eVX Concept includes a secure battery technology within its specialized electric vehicle platform. This platform is designed to offer a comfortable cabin experience equipped with various connected features, including expectations of a touchscreen infotainment system paired with a digital instrument cluster.
