MG Motor India has significantly reduced prices for the Hector and Hector Plus SUVs. This decision has been made in response to slow sales, as both SUVs collectively sold around 2,000 units per month. MG Hector competes in the SUV segment with the Mahindra XUV700 and Scorpio N, both these SUVs have been selling over 6,000 units per month.

MG Hector Price Deductions
After the price deductions, Hector's price range is now Rs 14.73 lakh-21.73 lakh (ex-showroom). The base petrol variant sees a minimal price reduction of Rs 27,000, while the top-end variant gets a price reduction of up to Rs 66,000.Diesel variants on the other hand, get more significant price drops, with reductions ranging from Rs 86,000 to Rs 1.29 lakh.

MG Hector Plus Price Reductions
The 7-seater Hector Plus gets even more substantial price reductions. Petrol variants are now up to Rs 81,000 more affordable, while all diesel variants are cheaper by at least Rs 1 lakh. Prices for the Hector Plus SUV now range from Rs 17.50 lakh to Rs 22.43 lakh (ex-showroom).

Powertrain
Both the MG cars are powered by either a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine or a 2.0-litre diesel engine. 6- speed manual or a CVT gearbox are available as transmission options.

MG Hector and MG Hector Plus - Competitors
Along with competing with Mahindra XUV700 and Scorpio N, MG Hector and Hector Plus also rival the likes of Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and 5-seater versions of the Mahindra XUV700 for the Hector and Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar for the Hector Plus.
