Hyundai i20 2026 Spied Testing: The new-generation Hyundai i20 hatchback has been spied on test in India for the first time, revealing potential exterior design updates. This Hyundai i20 was in Gurugram for testing. Considering that Hyundai's testing team did not want us to see the updates for the upcoming model, it was hiding the new i20 under covers.

Compared to the existing Hyundai i20, this example has a tapered rear end and a rounded hatchback shape. While the overall silhouette looks identical to the current version, we expect the new-generation model to feature a revised rear bumper and new taillamps. Previous spy shots have revealed a new grille design, redesigned LED headlamps (with repositioned DRLs), a sculpted bonnet, and differently designed alloys.

Hyundai i20 2026 Spied Testing in India: Features

The spy images did not offer a peek inside the cabin, but expect significant upgrades over the predecessor. A new display setup, consisting of a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster, is likely to be borrowed from the upcoming Venue. An ADAS suite for safety is also on the cards.

The mechanical components are expected to remain unchanged, with the new i20 featuring the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines under the hood.

Hyundai i20 2026 Spied Testing in India: Launch Details

Market reports suggest that the new-gen Hyundai i20 could launch in India in FY2027-28, preceded by the new Bayon in 2026, a crossover based on the new-gen i20 platform. The Bayon will be positioned as a rival to the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and the Tata Nexon.
