KTM, renowned for its superfast motorcycles, has introduced the new 390 Duke. With significant enhancements in design, structure, engine configuration and features, the new 390 Duke promises an exciting riding experience that surpasses its predecessor. Mentioned below are the key transformations that set the two generations of KTM 390 Duke apart.

New KTM 390 vs Old KTM 390 - Difference in Design and Structure

The latest 390 Duke appears sleek and is far more muscular than its predecessor. It features a modified LED headlight design. Its fuel tank has been changed and now looks more aggressive. All these features contribute to the difference in design in both the earlier and the current generation KTM 390 Duke.

KTM's new 390 Duke is built on an improved chassis featuring a new steel-trellis frame and a new sub-frame constructed of pressure die-cast aluminium. The swingarm now has a curved shape, a new underbelly exhaust has been installed in place of the side-slung exhaust and the rear monoshock now has an offset design.

The engine's power has been increased from 373 cc to 398 cc. The engine now produces 44 bhp of power, while the earlier model produced 42 bhp. There has also been an increase in the torque output from 37 Nm to 39 Nm. The 6-speed gearbox with assist and slip clutches remains the same.

In comparison, the new 390 Duke's suspension has been substantially improved. A 43mm WP Apex open cartridge fork with 5-step compression and rebound adjustability is used in the new model. A WP Apex Separate Piston Offset mono-shock with 5-step rebound preload adjustability is positioned at the rear.

The old as well as the new KTM Duke 390 feature a 5-inch TFT screen, however, KTM has significantly modified the instrument panel for the new-gen 390 Duke. Although turn-by-turn navigation has been added, Bluetooth connectivity continues to exist along with a new turn-by-turn navigation feature. The KTM 390 Duke gets additional features such as riding mode, track mode, launch control, cruise control, cornering ABS and new switchgear for the instrument cluster
