Ola Electric Becomes India’s First Electric Two-Wheeler Manufacturer To Achieve 2.5 Lakh Units Sales In One Year

Ola Electric, a renowned name in the electric two-wheeler segment in India, has become the first electric two-wheeler manufacturer in India to exceed 2.5 lakh units sold in a calendar year. This accounts for 31 per cent of the total 8,28,537 electric two-wheelers sold in India until the second last week of the year. According to Vahan Data till December 21, Ola has achieved an impressive 131 per cent year-on-year growth in retail electric two-wheeler sales in 2023. Ola Electric retailed 2,52,702 e-scooter in 2023 as compared to the 1,09,395 units sold in 2022.

These figures indicate that Ola Electric sold approximately 20,000 units per month, reflecting the continuous demand for the brand throughout the year. Ola sold a total of 18,353 units in January and then surpassed the 20,000-unit mark for the first time in March with 21,434 units sold in the month. The manufacturer continued to achieve a monthly record in November after selling 29,898 units in the month. 

Ola maintains a market share of 30.50 percent throughout 2023, however, two other electric two-wheeler manufacturers have achieved six-figure sales this year - TVS Motor held a 19.60 per cent share with 1,62,399 units sold while Ather Energy maintained a 12.30 per cent share with 1,01,940 units sold.
