Ola S1 Pro+ Electric Scooter Deliveries Commence In India – Powered By Indigenous 4680 Battery Cell

Ola S1 Pro+ 5.2kWh Scooter: Ola Electric has begun customer deliveries of its S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh) electric scooter, the first Ola to feature an in-house 4,680 Bharat Cell battery pack. This makes Ola the first Indian manufacturer to fully control both the battery pack and cell manufacturing process for its EVs (Electric Vehicles), a major step toward achieving energy independence.

According to Ola, the domestically manufactured battery cell technology offers improved range, stronger performance, and higher safety. The battery pack in the 5.2kWh configuration recently obtained ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) certification under the latest AIS-156 Amendment 4 standards from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). 'This milestone is not just about the 4680 Bharat Cell; it's about India owning the future of energy and mobility. Our in-house cell technology enables us to build products with a greater range, performance, and safety - all designed and made right here in India,' an Ola Electric spokesperson stated.

Ola S1 Pro+: Battery, Range

The Ola S1 Pro+ is available in two battery configurations: 4kWh and 5.2kWh, rated at 242km and 320km (IDC figures), respectively. Irrespective of the battery, the S1 Pro+ offers a 13kW electric motor that enables the scooter to accelerate from 0 to 40km/h in 2.1 seconds. The top speed is capped at 130km/h.

Ola S1 Pro+: Features

As standard, Ola offers 4 ride modes (Hyper, Sport, Normal and Eco), disc brakes, and dual-channel ABS. Design-wise, the scooter features a dual-toned seat, an aluminium grab handle, new rim decals, and body-coloured mirrors. It is available in six shades: Passion Red, Porcelain White, Industrial Silver, Jet Black, Stellar Blue, and Midnight Blue.
