Rahul Gandhi in Colombia: Following his address at a seminar titled 'The Future is Today' at the EIA University in Medellin, Colombia, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to post a picture of himself, with the Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle in the background. For those unaware, Rahul Gandhi is currently on a four-nation tour of South America, where, according to the Indian National Congress (INC), he is expected to meet and interact with political leaders, university students, and business executives across four countries, in an attempt to strengthen democratic and strategic ties.

Rahul Gandhi Colombia Visit: Praises Indian 2W Firms' Success

Rahul Gandhi's picture came with a caption that says: 'Proud to see Bajaj, Hero & TVS do so well in Colombia. Shows Indian companies can win with innovation, not cronyism. Great job,' indicating that Indian companies can excel globally through merit, not politics.

Rahul Gandhi, a day ago, raised similar concerns while speaking at the EIA seminar and remarked, 'Three or four businesses taking over the whole economy, having a direct relationship with the prime minister, is rampant in India', while alleging that there were huge amounts of corruption at a very centralised level.

Rahul Gandhi was of the view that India had a much more complex system compared to China, adding that the former's strengths were very different from those of the latter. While being optimistic about India, Gandhi flagged internal challenges, saying, 'There are fault lines within the Indian structure. There are risks that India has to overcome. The single biggest risk is the attack on democracy that is taking place in India.'

TVS Maintains the Lead in 2W Sales: Tops the Sixth Time

Not just away from home, all three 2W OEMs were hailed in their home ground as well, for their September 2025 retail sales performances. After registering record sales for the first time in April 2025, TVS Motor Company topped monthly retail sales for the sixth time in a row. September 2025 saw sales of 22,481 TVS to-wheelers, up 27 per cent YoY (year-over-year).

Bajaj Auto, on the other hand, jumped to the No. 2 position last month from the No. 5 position in August. With 19,519 units delivered last month, Bajaj could finally resume its popular Chetak production at full capacity after China's export restrictions on 7 types of rare earth elements (RRE) were removed. Hero MotoCorp delivered 12,736 Vida e-scooters, up 310 per cent YoY from 4,759 units sold in September 2024. This is thanks to the robust demand for the Vida VX2.
