Royal Enfield is gearing up for the launch of its two bikes, the next-generation Himalayan and the Shotgun 650. This bobber-style motorcycle recently received approval from the United States Environmental Protection Agency for the 2024 model year and has now received approval from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). 

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Engine 

The Shotgun 650 will join the league of Royal Enfield's 650cc bikes that include the Continental GT 650, Super Meteor 650, and Interceptor 650. It shares the same 648cc parallel twin engine, delivering 47 bhp of power and likely similar gearing and engine specifications as the other 650cc Royal Enfield motorcycles.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Dimensions 

What sets the Shotgun apart is its distinct personality as it will sport a street bike type usage. When compared to its sibling counterpart Super Meteor 650, it is shorter in length (2,170mm vs. 2,260mm), slimmer (820mm vs. 890mm), and boasts a higher ground clearance. While precise seat height figures are yet to be confirmed, it's expected to be higher than the Super Meteor's low-slung seat at 740mm.

Moreover, the Shotgun will likely feature increased rear suspension travel, catering to those looking for a bike that is usable for daily commute. Its design will feature twin exhausts, alloy wheels, a dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS), wide handlebars, and an analog-digital instrument cluster with a Tripper navigation pod. Though the Shotgun's full specifications are yet to be disclosed, it's anticipated to offer a split saddle and single saddle options.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Prices and India Launch 

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will make its debut at EICMA 2023 in Milan, Italy, slated to start on November 7. Its India launch is anticipated to happen later in November at the Royal Enfield Rider Mania. The Shotgun 650 will be Royal Enfield’s flagship model in international markets and could be the most expensive Royal Enfield motorcycle till date with prices ranging from Rs 3.70 to Rs 3.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
