Skoda Kodiaq Facelift: The new generation Skoda Kodiaq, revealed in October 2023, has been spotted testing in India for the first time. The SUV has been spotted without any camouflage and looks ready to hit the showrooms within the next few months. This spotting indicates that Skoda India is gearing up for an imminent launch of the new-gen Skoda Kodiaq in the country. The new Skoda Kodiaq is expected to launch in India by this festive season. It will compete with other SUVs in its segment including the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian and Volkswagen Tiguan.

New Skoda Kodiaq - Design
In terms of design, the second-generation Kodiaq features a more refined and aerodynamic design compared to its predecessor. While the previous model had sharp cuts and creases, the new Kodiaq has smoother edges and curves. The front end, although reminiscent of the outgoing model, includes a completely new set of LED Matrix headlights and LED DRLs, a redesigned bonnet, a new butterfly grille and a revised bumper. From the side, the Kodiaq showcases a sleek shoulder line running across its body and it appears larger due to a 6 cm increase in length. The rear profile has been completely redesigned with a restyled D-pillar, new LED tail lights, an updated tailgate and a new bumper.
New Skoda Kodiaq - Interior
Moving inside, the interior of the new Kodiaq has been significantly updated offering a more luxurious feel. It features a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10-inch Virtual Cockpit. An optional head-up display is also available. The new Smart Dials in the centre console help reduce clutter and come with multiple functions and small digital displays for different modes. Skoda has moved the gear selector to the steering column. The front seats now come with an optional massage function.

New Skoda Kodiaq - Powertrain
In terms of powertrain, Skoda has equipped with a new plug-in hybrid petrol engine with the Kodiaq. This 204 bhp unit offers a WLTP-claimed electric-only range of 100 km. Other engine options include 1.5-litre TSI, 2.0-litre TSI and 2.0-litre TDI engines. It is expected that Skoda will bring only the 2.0-litre TSI engine to India at the time of launch, though there is hope that the diesel option might also be introduced.
