Tata Altroz Vs Maruti Suzuki Baleno: The Tata Altroz facelift 2025 has been launched in India with a price tag ranging between Rs 6.89 lakhs (Ex-showroom) and Rs 11.29 lakhs (Ex-showroom) today. It will rival the Maruti Suzuki Baleno in the country, which has remained one of the best-selling hatchbacks ever since its introduction. The previous generation Altroz was Rs 6000 more expensive than the Baleno, but tables have turned as the Facelift Model of the Altroz is now more expensive by Rs 1.37 Lakhs. Well, there are some twists and turns, and here is the price comparison of both premium hatchback cars.
Tata Altroz Vs Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Pre Facelift Era
The ‘XE petrol’ was the base trim for the previous generation model of the Tata Altroz, and it was priced at Rs 6.64 lakhs (Ex-showroom), before the launch of the 2025 Facelift upgrade of the premium hatchback. The ‘Sigma Petrol’, on the other hand, is the base model of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and it costs Rs 6.7 lakhs (Ex-showroom). This is how Tata Altroz used to undercut the Baleno by Maruti Suzuki before the launch of its Facelift iteration. However, the top-spec trim of the previous generation Altroz was Rs 64,000 expensive than the top-of-the-line Alpha Petrol variant of the Baleno. It was priced at Rs 10.56 lakhs (Ex-showroom), before the facelift variant joined the lineup.

Tata Altroz Facelift Vs Maruti Suzuki Baleno: The Price Hike
The tables have turned with the Tata Altroz Facelift launching today. The base variant of the newly-launched Facelift Model, Smart Persona, costs Rs 19,000 more when compared to the Sigma Petrol base variant of the Baleno. The top-spec Accomplished S variant of the Altroz Facelift, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 11.29 lakhs (Ex-showroom), and it is Rs 1.37 lakhs expensive than the Alpha trim of the Baleno. However, it should be noted that the Accomplished S trim of the all-new Altroz Facelift gets a diesel mill, whereas the Alpha variant of the Baleno is offered with a 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine.
Tata Altroz Facelift Vs Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Features
The Altroz Facelift includes features such as 6 airbags, a 10.24-inch display for the instrument cluster and infotainment System, height-adjustable driver seat, automatic rain-sensing wipers, LED headlamps and taillights, and ambient light. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes equipped with a projector headlamp setup, UV cut glasses, a 360-degree camera, an ISOFIX child seat mount, and a high-speed alert system. It is worth noting that the Baleno was earlier available with two airbags on offer as standard, but now it also gets 6 airbags as standard, along with ABS and ESP.
