Tata Harrier Petrol:  Tata Safari and Harrier petrol are all set to be launched in India tomorrow. The brand currently offers both of its popular SUVs exclusively with a diesel engine. While the Tata Harrier was introduced in 2019, the Safari was introduced in 2021, and both of these SUVs have remained popular in their respective segments ever since. However, the lack of a petrol engine limits their potential. Let’s take a look at what can be expected in terms of engine specs from the upcoming Tata Safari Petrol and Tata Harrier Petrol.

Tata Safari & Harrier Petrol: The Engine

The upcoming facelift models of the Tata Safari and Harrier will use a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged Hyperion engine. The engine utilises an aluminium block and features high-pressure gasoline direct injection. The use of an aluminium block in the engine results in reduced weight, and it also features a water-cooled variable geometry turbocharger. The engine is expected to generate a peak power and torque output of 168 bhp and 280 Nm, respectively.

Tata Safari & Harrier Petrol: Transmission Options

The Tata Safari and Harrier are currently available with a diesel engine, which can be paired with either a manual or an automatic transmission. We expect the mill to be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, and the automatic transmission might likely be a Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT).

Tata Safari & Harrier Petrol: Expected Price

The prices for the Tata Harrier start from Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Tata Safari is priced from Rs 14.66 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. We expect the upcoming Tata Safari and Harrier Petrol to be launched with prices starting from Rs 13.60 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
