Tata Sierra SUV Set For Debut Today: Expected Price And Powertrain

Tata Sierra SUV Price: The long-awaited Tata Sierra, India's original lifestyle SUV, is set to premiere today (November 15). While the launch will take place in India on November 25, Tata appears to be holding a special promotional event for the Sierra today, where the brand is expected to announce key details, including powertrain and safety features. With Tata releasing several teasers over the past few weeks, we already have a fair idea of the SUV's design and feature set. Here's an overview of that, as well as of what to expect in terms of powertrain and price.

Tata Sierra SUV: Powertrain

We expect Tata to launch the ICE version of the Sierra first, which is likely to be equipped with these engine options: a 168bhp, turbocharged petrol engine and a 116bhp, 1.5-litre diesel mill. Both manual and automatic gearbox options are expected to be present. The EV version will also arrive, expected to join the lineup at a later stage.

Tata Sierra SUV: Interior, Features

The Tata Sierra is confirmed to get a dual-tone interior theme, a 4-spoke steering wheel (with an illuminated Tata logo), an auto-dimming IRVM, touch-sensitive controls, a three-screen setup (a central touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and a passenger's display), a panoramic sunroof, rear sunshades, and dual-zone climate control. Safety-wise, the SUV will offer a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and an ADAS suite.

Expected bits include ventilated seats, a Harman sound system, 6 airbags, and wireless connectivity.

Tata Sierra SUV: Exterior Design

The new Tata Sierra's design combines heritage and innovation. Drawing inspiration from the original 1991 Sierra SUV, the all-new SUV has the signature curved rear windows, a high-set bonnet, and squared-off wheel arches, while maintaining its boxy silhouette, upright stance, and dual-tone finish.

However, modern styling features, such as a split headlamp setup, connected light signatures, shorter overhangs, flush door handles, and new diamond-cut alloy wheels, are what set the 2025 Sierra apart from the OG vehicle. The new SUV also sports a sharper roofline compared to the older version. Another distinguishing element is the vehicle's 5-door layout versus the OG's 3-door layout.

Tata Sierra SUV: Expected Price

With the updates, Tata could target a range of Rs 15 lakh–Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). The Sierra ICE will rival the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, and the upcoming Renault Duster.
