Tata Sierra Vs Hyundai Creta: Tata Motors has reintroduced the Sierra SUV in India after over 20 years. With prices starting at Rs 11.49 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom), the Sierra is positioned above its sibling, the Curvv, as a more premium mid-size SUV in Tata's lineup. In terms of market competition, the Sierra takes on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Skoda Kushaq, and more. Here, we take a close look at how the newly launched Sierra fares against its established rival, the Creta, on paper:
Tata Sierra Vs Hyundai Creta: Engine, Output
Both the SUVs get three engine options under the hood: naturally aspirated (NA) petrol, turbo petrol, and diesel, each of which has a capacity of 1.5 litres and comes with 4 cylinders. In terms of transmission as well, both SUVs are offered with the same options: the less powerful petrol and the diesel can be paired with manual and automatic gearboxes, while the turbocharged unit gets the automatic gearbox only.

As is evident in the table above, the Sierra has a slight edge over the Creta with its engine output.

Tata Sierra Vs Hyundai Creta: Size, Wheelbase, Boot Space
In terms of size, the Sierra measures 4,340mm long, 1,841mm wide, and 1,715mm high, making it 10mm longer, 51mm wider, and 80mm taller than the Hyundai Creta. It even features a 120mm longer wheelbase than its competitor, which has a 2,610mm-long wheelbase. The Sierra offers 622 litres of boot space, one of the largest in the segment, whereas the Creta gets 433 litres of space.
Tata Sierra Vs Hyundai Creta: Price
The Tata Sierra ranges from Rs 11.49 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom), which is nearly Rs 80,000 more expensive than the base-spec Creta, which starts at Rs 10.73 lakh (ex-showroom). While the complete price list of the Sierra has yet to be revealed in the first week of December, the Creta tops out at Rs 20.19 lakh (ex-showroom).
