Tata Avinya EV Range: Tata Motors is a leading automobile manufacturer in India that currently dominates the electric vehicle market in the country. It has announced plans to launch cars based on the Avinya platform starting from the FY2026, with the first vehicle expected to hit dealerships before March 2026. The Avinya series of electric cars will be built on Jaguar Land Rover's (JLR) EMA platform, as part of a strategic agreement between Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEM) and JLR, both fully owned subsidiaries of Tata Motors.

Under this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Tata’s premium electric vehicles in the Avinya series will utilise JLR’s modular architecture. This collaboration is set to benefit both companies by reducing research and development costs through platform sharing. JLR plans to use the EMA platform for its upcoming electric mid-size SUVs, which will be launched in the global market starting from 2025.

The Avinya concept was first showcased in 2022, representing Tata Motors' vision for future electric mobility. Though it didn't belong to a specific segment, Tata later revealed that the Avinya platform would be the basis for a range of vehicles, including MPVs and SUVs. The Gen 3 platform promises a lightweight design with a range of up to 500 km on a single charge.

The Sierra EV will follow, debuting in fiscal year 2026, just before the Avinya-based vehicles hit the market. With these upcoming releases, Tata Motors is gearing up to strengthen its position in the electric vehicle market, showcasing a commitment to innovative and sustainable mobility solutions.
