Ahead of the official launch of the Tesla Cybertruck on November 30, Tesla has announced the sales conditions for the Cybertruck. Tesla has revealed that Cybertruck buyers won't have the option to resell the Tesla Cybertruck within the initial year of ownership, as stated by the company in its sales terms. If a Cybertruck owner plans to sell the EV pickup truck within the first year, they'll be facing a substantial $50,000 penalty, as it will be seen as a violation of the contractual agreement. This comes as an unusual revelation because no other EV manufacturer has done this till now. This is unusual because most car companies don't have such rules, except for limited production supercars.
When buying the Tesla Cybertruck, customers have to sign a sales agreement that binds the buyer to refrain from reselling the electric truck for a minimum of one year post-delivery. While Tesla might consider the reselling of a Cybertruck under certain circumstances, the details of these circumstances remain undisclosed. Moreover, the agreement ensures that Tesla retains the first right of refusal in any resale scenario.

Tesla has laid down a firm regulation in place about the resale of the Cybertruck within the initial year warning the resellers that they could face liquidated damages. Additionally, Tesla has also warned buyers that if they engage in such resale activities, it may result in the reseller being barred from acquiring any future vehicles from the electric car manufacturer.
