Toyota Motors, one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world has revealed the new Crown Sport SUV alongside the sedan in Toyota’s Crown range. Recently, Toyota also revealed the Century SUV which was a counterpart of the Century sedan that has been a popular name in the market since 1967.
Toyota Crown Sport SUV - Exterior and Interior
The Crown Sport SUV is a five-seater SUV that is 5 metre long and has a 2.7 metre wheelbase. The new Toyota SUV draws design inspiration from its sedan counterpart with sleek lines defining the SUV. It features a double-layered nose with the main headlamps placed on the bumper, C-shaped LED DRLs, faux skid plates, high positioned bumper, black highlights and connected tail-lamp units that all contribute to the "Hammerhead Shark" look of the SUV.
On the inside, the new Crown Sport SUV gets a premium appearance with the inclusion of wood and leather for the finishing of the interior. Toyota has also introduced a new sound-regulating ceiling tech which will help in creating a quiet and silent cabin.
Toyota Crown Sport SUV - Powertrain
The engine specifications of the Crown Sport SUV has not been revealed but it is expected to get a 2.4-litre petrol hybrid powertrain with multiple power outputs. It is also likely that Toyota will bring in more plug-in hybrid powertrains in their cars in the future.
Toyota Crown Sport SUV - Launch
After its launch, the Crown Sport SUV will only be sold in Japan. However, it is likely that the Japanese automaker might have plans to sell the Crown SUV in other international markets. In 2022, Toyota had revealed four different iterations of the Crown line-up that included a crossover, a sport type, sedan and an SUV with plans to sell these in about 40 countries across the globe.
