The Indian automotive industry is likely to have an exciting month in August. In the upcoming days, numerous new cars will be introduced in a variety of markets, particularly targeting the luxury car sector. Ranging from ICE cars to CNG SUVs to EVs, all upcoming automobiles that will be introduced in India in August 2023 have been listed below.
Mercedes Benz GLC
The new second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLC will debut in India on August 9, 2023. Pre-orders for the same are already being accepted for a nominal fee of Rs 1.5 lakh. A 194 horsepower 2.0-litre diesel engine and a 201 bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine will power the new GLC models. These ISG-assisted engines will come standard with all-wheel drive and be coupled to a 9-speed AT. The car features an 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and revamped interiors.
Toyota Rumion
Toyota will introduce the brand-new Rumion. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will be rebadged as this three-row MPV. A 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 103 bhp and 138 Nm is expected to power the Rumion. It is said to be attached to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed AT. It could additionally get a bi-fuel CNG option.
Audi Q8 e-tron
The new Audi Q8 e-tron SUV and Q8 e-tron Sportback will debut in India on August 18. There will be 50 and 55 trim levels available for the Audi Q8 e-tron lineup. The base 50 trim comes with a 95 kWh unit, while the top-of-the-line 55 trim is equipped with a huge 114 kWh battery pack. The Q8 e-Tron, according to Audi, can travel up to 600 kilometres on a single charge. The cars will compete with the likes of the BMW iX and the Jaguar I-Pace and are anticipated to cost Rs 1.5 crore (approx).
Hyundai Creta, Alcazar Adventure Edition
New limited edition Creta and Alcazar mid-size SUV models will be released by Hyundai Motor India. These new vehicles, dubbed the Adventure Edition, will feature a "Ranger Khaki" paint job that most recently made its debut on the Hyundai Exter. The company may introduce an all-black interior but the mechanicals will not change.

Citroen C3 Aircross
The Citroen C3 Aircross, the company's fourth vehicle, will be released in India in August. The vehicle, which is based on the Citroen C3, is anticipated to be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with a maximum output of 110 Nm and 109 hp. Additionally, a digital instrument cluster measuring 7 inches is expected to be installed.
Volvo C40 Recharge
The Volvo C40 Recharge is the final car on the list that will be introduced in August. After the XC40 Recharge electric SUV, it will be the company's second electric vehicle in India. The 78 kWh battery pack in the Volvo C40 Recharge made for India is said to provide 530 km of driving range on a single charge.
