Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport Variant: German automobile giant Volkswagen is gearing up to launch the Taigun GT Plus Sport variant on March 21 in India. Ahead of the official launch, details of the upcoming GT Plus Sport variant  have been revealed. As per a report from CarWale, the model will come with two engine choices and two transmission options.

Volkswagen Taigun was launched for the first time in the Indian market in September 2021. It is available in the country with its prices starting from Rs 11.62 lakh that go up to Rs 19.76 lakh (ex-showroom). The Taigun is offered in two main trim levels - the Dynamic Line and the Performance Line. The Performance Line features the GT variant, while the Dynamic Line encompasses the Comfortline, Highline, and Topline models. The new GT Plus Sport will be available in both Dynamic Line and Performance Line variants.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport - Exterior Design 

Talking about the exterior design of the Taigun GT Plus Sport variant, it will showcase darkened LED headlamps, a Carbon Steel Grey roof, dark chrome door handles, red brake callipers on the front axle and prominent red GT branding on the grille, fender, and rear profile. Additionally, it will present a sleek blacked-out finish for various elements like the grille, diffuser, trapezoidal wing, new 17-inch alloy wheels and fender badges.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport - Interior 

Moving inside the Taigun GT Plus Sport variant, the cabin will boast black leatherette upholstery accented with red stitching, aluminium pedals, a black headliner, a glossy black dashboard, a Sport steering wheel featuring red stitching and an embroidered GT logo on the front seat backrest. It will also incorporate blacked-out roof lamp housing, sun visors and grab handles.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport - Powertrain 

Talking about the engine specs of the Taigun GT Plus Sport variant, it will retain the existing engine options. A 1.0-litre petrol engine will be available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission, while the 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engines will be paired with the seven-speed DSG gearbox. The 1.0-litre variant is expected to deliver a power output of 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-liter variant will generate a power output of 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.
