Volkswagen Tayron Safety: The German carmaker, Volkswagen, is gearing up to launch its premium 7-seater SUV, the Tayron, in India. Recently, the premium SUV secured a 5-star safety rating in a crash test conducted by the Euro NCAP. Here we are providing you with information regarding the features, design, engine, and safety of the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron.
Volkswagen Tayron: Features
The upcoming Tayron is expected to get a cabin similar to the global model, which shares its resemblance with the currently available Tiguan. It features a 15-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and a 10.25-inch one for the instrument cluster. It comes loaded with features such as a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, 3-zone climate control, wireless mobile charger, along with a level-2 ADAS suite.

Volkswagen Tayron: Safety
It is worth noting that the crash test was conducted with the 2.0-litre TDI engine model with left-hand drive, however, the ratings apply to all the Tayron models available on sale. The premium 7-seater SUV by Volkswagen scored an 87 per cent score for the adult occupants, while it scored an 85 per cent score for the child occupant. The premium SUV by Volkswagen comes equipped with 9 airbags, an ISOFIX child seat mount, autonomous emergency braking, and other Level-2 ADAS suite features.
Volkswagen Tayron: Engine And Transmission
The Tayron shares its heart with its other siblings, as well as the newly launched Skoda Kodiaq 2025 in India. The 7-seater premium SUV by Volkswagen draws its power from a 2-litre petrol engine, which churns out 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque. As for the transmission, the 3-row SUV gets a 7-speed DCA (dual-clutch automatic) transmission. The power is sent to all the wheels of the SUV.
Volkswagen Tayron: Launch Timeline
The launch timeline of the Tayron cannot be confirmed yet, however, it is expected that the premium 7-seater SUV might make its official debut sometime around the festive season in the country. Recently, an undisguised Tayron model was spotted testing on the roads of Maharashtra, and this adds up to the expectation of the SUV launching soon, here in India.
