The long-awaited Amrit Bharat Express between Ara and New Delhi is finally set to begin operations. The Indian Railways will run a special inaugural service of the train from Rajendra Nagar (Patna) to New Delhi on July 18, followed by regular service starting from July 31.
The train, which will run at a maximum speed of 130 kmph, will cover the distance between Ara and New Delhi in approximately 16 hours and 15 minutes, while the return journey will take around 15 hours.
The Amrit Bharat Express will feature only general and sleeper class coaches, with no AC compartments. The Railway Ministry has officially notified the timings for both the special and regular operations.
On the inaugural run, the train will depart from Rajendra Nagar at 11:45 AM, halt at Ara at 1:15 PM, and reach New Delhi by 4:00 AM the following day. Booking for the special train is currently open, with more than 400 berths still available as of Wednesday night.
From July 31, in its regular schedule, the train will leave Rajendra Nagar at 7:45 PM, stop at Ara Junction at 8:56 PM, and arrive in New Delhi at 1:10 PM the next day. The return journey will begin from New Delhi at 7:10 PM, reach Ara at 9:55 AM, and terminate at Patna at 10:50 AM.

However, some passengers may be disappointed as the journey duration is longer compared to express services like Sampoorna Kranti, which completes the same route more quickly.
