The second Amrit Bharat train in Bihar is anticipated to get operational from 14 of next month. The new train with 22 coaches will connect Bihar with the National capital Delhi, operating between Saharsa and New Delhi. The train designed to improve the travelling experience of common people will have 22 coaches in total, including Sleeper and General.

With better efficiency at a speed of 130 kmph the new Amrit Bharat is anticipated to reach Delhi faster when compared to other premium trains.

The Indian Railways started the country’s first Amrit Bharat Train between Darbhanga in Bihar and New Delhi last year. The eastern railway is set to introduce the high-speed train from Saharsa, making it the second station, after Dharbhaga, to operate the advanced train.

Commuters travelling through the Amrit Bharat train will get to enjoy several modern facilities such as LED lights, mobile charging, folding tables etc. The upcoming high-speed train between Saharsa and New Delhi promises a jerk-free journey, enhancing comfort. The train’s configuration includes 11 general, 8 sleeper coaches with one pantry car and 2 luggage cum LSRD coaches.  The Railway Board is yet to announce the official schedule for the Amrit Bharat train on the Saharsa-New Delhi route, however, diligent preparation is underway.

The Amrit Bharat train features a push-pull mechanism with engines at both ends. The front engine pulls the train, while the rear engine pushes it, significantly enhancing the train's speed.

Notably, Bihar will also get a summer special train to be operated from April 7 to June 30. The special train will start its operation from Lokmanya Tilak Terminal and will end its journey in Bihar's Danapur.
