Students in Pratapgarh’s council schools will receive new textbooks on April 1, the first day of the new academic year. The district, which has 2,370 primary, upper primary, and composite schools with approximately 2.1 lakh registered students, has ensured timely delivery this year.

Previously, despite the academic session shifting from July to April four years ago to align with private schools, textbook distribution remained delayed until 2023, forcing students to rely on old books.

This year, the government has mandated that all students receive their books on the first day of school. Distribution began two days earlier with an event at Company Bagh. So far, 10 lakh textbooks for grades 4-8 have arrived, though workbooks are still pending.

Students in grades 1-3 are also awaiting their textbooks and workbooks. BSA Bhupendra Singh confirmed that all available books will be distributed on April 1, with the remaining textbooks provided as they arrive.
