Bihar Crime: A woman allegedly poisoned her four children in the Aurangabad district of Bihar on Wednesday and then attempted suicide. According to officials, three of her daughters died. The incident took place at Aurangabad's Rafiganj railway station.

The 40-year-old woman, along with her six-year-old son, is in serious condition.

The names of the deceased are Shivani Kumari (one), Radha Kumari (three), and Suryamani Kumari (five).

The mother, Sonia Devi, and her minor son, Ritesh Kumar, are fighting for their lives in an Aurangabad government hospital.

Speaking to reporters, RPF inspector Ram Sumer said, "In the morning, we received information that a woman and her children were lying unconscious at the Rafiganj railway station."

"Railway police, along with local police and officials reached the spot, and found the woman and her four children in a critical condition. They were taken to the nearest hospital, where three of the children were declared dead. The woman and her six-year-old son were shifted to Sadar hospital for better treatment and their condition is stated to be critical," he added.

According to SHO Shambhu Kumar of the Rafiganj police station, the woman's drastic action was likely the result of a disagreement between her and her husband.

The officer stated that the bodies have been submitted for post-mortem evaluation and that additional inquiry is being conducted after her family members alleged she drank a toxic chemical and also given it to her children.

"The exact cause of the deaths can only be known after the post-mortem examination. Statements of the victims' family members are also being recorded," the SHO added.
