Bihar Assembly Election 2025: The assembly elections in Bihar will be held in two phases, polling for which will be held on November 6 and 11 while the counting of votes will be done on November 14, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar announced on Monday.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stated on Monday that more than 7.4 crore individuals are eligible to vote in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections scheduled for next month. He also mentioned that eligible citizens can still register their names on the electoral roll up to 10 days before the nomination deadline.

The full election process will be wrapped up by November 16.

"Bihar elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. Counting of votes will be done on November 14," Kumar said at a press conference.

He further emphasized, "It is mandatory to complete counting of postal ballots before the last two rounds of counting of votes."

In the first phase, polling will take place in 121 assembly constituencies, while the second phase will see elections conducted in 122 constituencies.

Bihar residents who are not listed in the final electoral roll still have the opportunity to include their names. Here's what to do:

THE CEC Gyanesh Kumar said that the final voter list, with over 7.24 crore voters, was published on September 30, adding that in case of any lapse, an appeal can be filed with the district magistrate.

"There are a total of 7.42 crore voters in Bihar, of which 3.92 crore are males and 3.5 crore are women. There are 14 lakh first-time voters and 4 lakh senior citizen voters," Kumar said at a press conference in New Delhi.

The CEC said that the final poll list of 7.24 crore voters in Bihar was published on September 30 and handed over to political parties.

"Even now, if there is any shortcoming from the side of the electoral registration officer, an appeal can be filed with the district magistrate,” he said.

“If someone's name is missing, they can get their name added to the voter till till 10 days before the filing of nomination papers by candidates,” he added.

He added that once the nomination ends, no new voters will be added and the election would be conducted based on the final voter list.

Kumar termed the Bihar elections as "mother of all elections".
For the first phase, the last date of filing nominations is October 17 while the scrutiny will be held on October 18. The last date of withdrawal of candidature for first phase elections is October 20.

Similarly, for the second phase, the last date of filing nominations is October 20 while scrutiny will be held on October 21. The last date of withdrawal of candidature for the first phase elections is October 23.

The term of the current Assembly ends on November 22. Bihar has 243 constituencies, including two reserved for Scheduled Tribes and 38 for Scheduled Castes.
