As the battle for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections intensifies, the BJP, known for its expertise in social engineering, is rolling out a multi-dimensional strategy to ensure the NDA returns to power. The party has identified 125 assembly constituencies where the NDA’s prospects appear uncertain and is now focusing efforts on winning over women voters in these areas.
Leveraging the government’s existing welfare schemes that have gained favour among women—who form nearly half the electorate and are considered supporters of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar—the BJP plans to deepen its grassroots engagement by deploying 250 women vistaraks (outreach workers) across the identified constituencies. This marks the first time the party is taking such a targeted and large-scale approach.

The BJP has divided Bihar into eight zones, devising customised strategies for each based on regional characteristics and voter behaviour. To bolster election management, experienced party workers from other states will also be brought in to assist with ground operations under the party’s Mission-2025 framework.
Each woman vistarak will receive incentives and vehicle support to reach out directly to voters at the booth and Panchayat levels, focusing especially on Shakti Kendras (women’s centres) to counter any anti-government sentiments among female voters.
BJP leaders and vistaraks will conduct detailed door-to-door outreach, analysing past election data to understand voter patterns, including booths where the NDA’s vote share was low in previous assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
Their campaign will highlight achievements of the “double engine” government’s schemes targeted at women and girls, such as the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, PM Awas Yojana (Rural), and Stand-up India Yojana.
Further emphasis will be placed on government initiatives related to women’s empowerment, including reservations in Panchayat and Municipal Corporation elections, government jobs, education loans, and other welfare schemes led by the Nitish Kumar government.
This strategic focus on women voters is expected to play a crucial role in determining the NDA’s electoral fortunes in Bihar’s closely contested constituencies.
