Nitish Kumar To Be Bihar CM? BJP Keeps Mum Even As LJP, HAM Extend Support; JDU Says '5 Pandav Sath Hain'

After a landslide victory in Bihar, the speculations are running high over the fate of Nitish Kumar, whether he will become the next Chief Minister of the state or not. The rounds of meetings have been going on  

Speaking about it, JDU's winning candidate from Phulwari refuted the rumours of any internal discord within the alliance. Calling the five allies '5 Pandavas', he said all of them are united.

After meeting CM Nitish Kumar, Rajak added, "The entire NDA is united. All 5 Pandavas are united. Elections were contested under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. He is our leader, and he will be our next CM as well."

Before his meeting, he had said, "We have the face here. There is no other face or option. There is no vacancy. Nitish Kumar has won people's hearts on the basis of his work."

"This is a victory of the people of Bihar. They trusted our leader, Nitish Kumar and the NDA. They gave a mandate to make him the CM once again on the basis of the work done by him. We would like to thank all voters of Bihar," he said.

Among other allies, HAM chief Jitan Ram Manjhi was the first to reiterate faith in Nitish Kumar. During the vote counting on Friday, Manjhi said, "This is not unexpected. We were saying from the beginning that NDA will form the Govt with a thumping majority and Nitish Kumar will be the CM. We are heading towards that."

Earlier today, Chirag Paswan, chief of the third-biggest ally LJP-RV, met CM Nitish Kumar and congratulated him. On Friday, he said, "I firmly believe that Nitish Kumar will remain the Bihar chief minister. Arrogance is the cause for the opposition's humiliating loss, and it is the sole factor that led to its downfall".

BJP, which emerged as the single largest party in the Bihar Elections by winning 95 seats, has, however, not made a clear statement.

The BJP has reiterated that the election was fought under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and credited him and PM Modi for the win. However, no official announcement has been made to make him the CM.
