Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has scheduled a meeting with Bihar BJP leaders in Delhi on September 3 to discuss preparations for the upcoming state assembly elections. The Election Commission is expected to issue the notification after 15 September, making this meeting crucial for the party’s strategy.
Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with Union Ministers Giriraj Singh and Nityanand Rai, will take part in the discussions. State in-charge Vinod Singh Tawde, co-in-charge Deepak Prakash and senior organisational leaders Bhikhubhai Dalsaniya and Nagendra Nath have also been invited.
The Jagran.com cited party sources as stating that, the agenda includes reviewing internal survey reports, addressing anti-incumbency concerns in constituencies and finalising seat-sharing arrangements with alliance partners. Leaders believe the meeting will set the tone for the BJP’s campaign in Bihar ahead of the polls.
In separate news, the BJP has lashed out at Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra over her alleged remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, sparking a political storm. During an event in Nadia district, Moitra reportedly said that if Shah failed to prevent infiltration from Bangladesh, he should be “beheaded.” The comment has led to outrage, with Chhattisgarh Police filing an FIR accusing her of promoting enmity and disturbing national unity.
BJP leaders condemned the remarks, calling them indecent and offensive. Party’s Raman Singh said her words “crossed all limits,” while Amit Malviya alleged she mocked the Scheduled Caste and Hindu communities. The BJP women’s wing has also announced a protest march in Kolkata.
Meanwhile, Trinamool leaders defended Moitra, accusing the BJP of targeting her because she is a strong critic in Parliament. Minister Shashi Panja countered, saying BJP itself often insults women leaders, citing past remarks against Mamata Banerjee and others.
