Congress on Sunday came down heavily on the Election Commission over the latter's claims that it had not received any complaints related to the voter list revision from the grand old party.

In a press conference at Sadaqat Ashram, Congress Media & Publicity Deptt.Chairman Pawan Khera alleged that so far 89 lakh complaints have been submitted but were not accepted by the poll body.

He alleged that the EC is not receiving complaints from the Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of the party and is demanding individual complaints.

Irked Khera outlined that it is practically impossible to file individual complaints in such a short time and asked, "If BLAs can't submit complaints, what is the role of political parties?"

According to Kheda, this is a clear indication that there is pressure from the ruling party on the Election Commission's functioning. And complaints are not being registered at all.

In the press conference, other party leaders, including the party's State President Rajesh Ram, Rajya Sabha member Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Shakeel Ahmed Khan, and Premchand Mishra, were present.

He gave information citing statistics about where, how and whose names were deleted during the revision of the voter list in Bihar.

Congress President Rajesh Ram spoke about Rahul Gandhi's 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', saying that his visit is not just a political program but is the voice of the constitutional rights of the people.

The yatra may formally conclude on September 1, but the fight for voters' rights will continue, he added. This movement is not for forming a government, but against the alleged injustice happening in democracy and the deprivation of voters, the Congress leader added.
