In preparation for the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar, a state-level training session was conducted on Wednesday for District Election Officers/District Magistrates from all districts on the First Level Checking (FLC) of EVMs and VVPATs.
This workshop, directed by the Election Commission of India, was chaired by Senior Deputy Election Commissioner, Manish Garg. Key officials in attendance included Bihar Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vinod Singh Gunjial, Principal Secretary of the Election Commission of India Arvind Anand, Secretary Madhusudan Gupta, and Senior Deputy General Manager of ECIL Prakash Mandal.
The workshop aimed to provide insights into technical and administrative aspects for the smooth conduct of the election process in the districts. The training covered the FLC process, technical security measures, operation of PFLCU and SLU, hands-on exercises, and a doubt-clearing session.

All District Election Officers/District Magistrates, Deputy Election Officers, and FLC supervisors from the state participated. Experts from ECIL and the Election Commission of India provided detailed information on EVM protocols and procedures.
Manish Garg directed all officials to ensure election preparations are timely, transparent, and adhere to the commission's guidelines. He also emphasised maintaining regular communication with representatives of political parties at the district level.
CEO Vinod Singh Gunjial described FLC as a crucial part of election management and highlighted its role in enhancing the technical skills of officials. Following the workshop, the Deputy Election Commissioner reviewed the election preparedness in the state.
